Yooka-Laylee is a great way to demonstrate how times change.

If this was done 10 years ago it would be called a "Generic late 90s-early 00s collect-a-thon".

It's so nice to see this completely destroying The Oatmeal's kickstarter records.

Personally, I'm **** ecstatic that this is happening, same with Mighty No. 9. I've wanted this since for years. And since Banjo Tooie was one of the most perfect sequels ever (it improved literally everything about the first game and then just flat out exceeded any expectation) I have high hopes that it will be the same thing here, an all-around improvement on a nostalgic world-exploring 3D platformer by the only people who really got that 100% right for me. And since the Kickstarter **** obliterated expectations in like 20 **** minutes flat, I don't appear to be the only one who feels this way.

OH MY GOD AND DAVID WISE IS TEAMING UP WITH GRANT KIRKHOPE FOR THE SOUNDTRACK?!?!?!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

I WILL BE SCREAMING FOR MONTHS

PLEASE BASED JESUS-SAMA DO NOT LET ME DIE BEFORE THIS COMES OUT

I can't say I was blown away by the main characters when I first saw them, but I can see them growing on me once I see them in-game, showing their personalities and whatnot.
Soundtrack: David Wise (Donkey Kong Country) and Grant Kirkhope (Banjo-Kazooie)
Well that's it, I'm sold.

Considering the people working on this I may yet change my tune about the project.

A scaled down Vita version would be nice.

I would like to see a collection based platformer again. It must be 10 years since I have played a new one.

^Last Tinker: City of Colors was supposedly something similar, but I haven't played it myself. I've played a few collectathons and a lot of platformers in the last few years, but you're right that the combination of the two is weirdly dead.

Must've gone the way of survival horror with publishers just abruptly deciding no one was interested. Never seemed like it crashed.

Well, remember about 10 years ago when collection platformers started to get savaged by critics and consumers weren't as interested as they were in the 1990s? Yeah. I guess you can say we got burned out on them. Collection Platformers were to the gaming public then as FPSes and MOBAs are now - the common whipping boy.

Also, Rockstar puts lots of collectables.
